"Golden Mountain"

I climbed to the highest point in Bangkok, excluding all the newly built high-rise buildings - Wat Saket. At the top, there is a temple and a 360-degree view of Bangkok, and the path to the top consists of more than 300 steps that spiral around the hill/fortress. The entrance fee was just under 3€.

The steps are painted red and provide an ideal contrast to the white walls of the fortress, and along the way to the top, you can hear a Buddhist prayer recited by a monk over a speaker... The initial part of the path goes through something resembling a jungle, with lots of greenery and micro oases with many details, all in the Buddhist spirit, while the rest of the path has the fortress wall on one side and a view of Bangkok on the other.

Almost at the very top, there is the main, enclosed part of the temple, where many Buddha statues are located, and monks are often seen praying. The open flat top of the temple is reached through a narrow passage, and when you step out to the top, there is a beautiful 360-degree view of Bangkok. In the center, there is a golden pagoda where wishes and donations can be left.

At the bottom, around the entire hill, you can find various galleries, mini souvenir shops, as well as places to rest and eat.
